New York, NY (February 1, 2008) - Valentino California Productions, an audio and video program production firm with offices in Los Angeles and New York areas, has released two unique music documentaries on audio CD. Narrated by Gene Valentino, the programs provide accurate historical coverage of the events of the 40s coupled with the big band hits of those times.

'Pearl Harbor - That Weekend in December' features hit songs, news headlines, sports and comedy that prevailed during the care-free days prior to that 'Day of Infamy'. Like America before and after December 7th - so varies the beginning and end of this unique documentary. A perspective of the Pearl Harbor bombing focusing on the U.S. Navy's role in the Pacific - the North Atlantic - and beyond. With popular music that reflected the mood of Americans and their times, and hit-songs from the early 40s mirror the mood in America.

A Glenn Millerhit-recording fades for headlines of news, movies, sports and even excerpts of famous radio shows. You'll chuckle at the comedy-bits of Jack Benny, Fibber McGee & Molly; W.C. Fields, and others. All typified the carefree mood of the nation before that Sunday, December 7th, 1941 - when the sobering impact of war was thrust upon an unsuspecting nation. Bleak times followed for a somber America at war. Interwoven with the event-laden narrative are slices of those memorable war-time songs sung by Frank Sinatra, Gracie Fields, Vera Lynn, and others.

Herein history unfolds. Famous speeches by FDR and Churchill. Selections by the U.S. Naval Academy Band & Chorus highlight the valiant role of the Navy after the horrendous loss of men and ships at Pearl Harbor. This energetic documentary lets you live the mood of the times and the surprise attack that plunged America into a world wide war. It started on a day-of-infamy during 'that weekend in December'.

'The 40's - Those Memorable Years' features the war, the people, the big bands and the hit songs linked to dramatic events of the 1940s. It was a decade like no other - when good times evolved into the anguish of war. This documentary highlights the events and underscores the music of the 1940s. A lively narrative is interspersed throughout with slices of unforgettable music in tune with the times.

The 'Flaming Forties" was a dramatic decade whose youth became America's 'greatest-generation'. they danced into the decade on a wave of frivolity. When Pearl Harbor thrust America into war, those 'carefree jitterbugs' became 'fighting men'. We were in another 'world' war that covered more of the world than any war before...and America's popular music portrayed the times. Songs include great hits from Artie Shaw, Charlie Barnet, Glenn Miller, Jimmy Dorsey, Tommy Dorsey, Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, the Andrews Sisters, Ethel Merman, Benny Goodman and many more.

A unique documentary of America's most memorable music linked to the dramatic events of the 40s.

Both programs are produced and narrated by Gene Valentino, newsman for NBC Radio and Mutual Radio Networks, actor and narrator.
