Vera Lynn at 92

With the news today that Vera Lynn's CD album 'We'll Meet Again' has reached the number one position in the album charts has astonishished every one I would think from teenagers to veterians and those who remember when Vera first sang the song in 1940's. That's the tiltle by the way of a CD releast conisiding with her new book Some Sunny Day. (See below) Vera Lynn is the oldest living person to have a album in the charts beating Bob Dylan and Neil Diamond to the number one position.

Dame Vera Lynn now 92 years old………………….ninety-two years old,
can you believe this, she was just a kid a few years ago
when we used to listen to her ‘Sincerely Yours Vera Lynn’
programmes on the BBC.
Her book called “Some Sunny Day” named of course after
one of her great songs is published by HarperCollins
and gives a full account of her long life singing for
us and our fighting men and women all over the world
up to just a few years ago. An amazing woman with a
voice to match that has been so much part of our lives
in peacetime and in war when we were in deadly peril.

This book will be full or historical facts I’m sure
and will be as enjoyable if not more so than the book
published in 2002 called ‘We’ll Meet Again’.
