 Jim Snodgrass

 The Tex Beneke Orchestra

Mr. Snodgrass has had a long and varied career in the music industry. After
training at UCLA and California State University, Northridge where he
obtained a Masters Degree in Music, he studied privately with some of the
legendary teachers in the music world: Bill Green, Bernie Fleisher, David
Weiss, and Mehli Mehta in conducting. He embarked on a music career
that has provided him with a variety of experiences and opportunities as a
live performer and in the recording industry.
He toured as a featured saxophonist with the Beach Boys (1968-69), the Osmond Brothers (1975-77), was a regular on the Donny and Marie Television Show (1976-77), played with the Don Ellis Orchestra with whom he recorded two albums (Live at Montreaux and Star Wars and Other Galaxies), and he has recorded with Ella Fitzgerald (Ella meets Gerald Wilson). He has performed in concert with Frank Sinatra and many other performers of comparable stature in venues as varied as the Hollywood Bowl (with the Harry James Orchestra), Europe, Las Vegas and Japan.

Currently Mr. Snodgrass continues to perform and refine his skills in the Los Angeles area. He was featured on the albums of Margo McRae and Art Depew this year. His experiences with the continuing Harry James, Benny Goodman and Nelson Riddle Orchestras have shown him to be an effective and energetic spokesperson for the music of the Swing Era.
He has performed with the Tex Beneke Orchestra for the past 5 years and has been leading the Orchestra since January of this year in venues across the country. He plans to produce an album this year featuring himself leading the orchestra.
