The Rat Pack

It was on the day of the show that a friend rang me to tell me that he had two spare tickets to the show as his friends had been unable to go, and would I like them.

As we had had a rather boring day I agreed, and together with my wife we arrived at the show with a few minute to spare. I was shocked first of all by the way the theatre was filling up; I had not anticipated that this show would have attracted so many people. Here we are attending a show and have no idea who the stars are.

When to an announcement “ladies and Gentlemen, Welcome to the Sands Las Vegas” the curtain rose and out walked Frank Sinatra circa 1960, not only did he look like Sinatra, he sang like Sinatra. I've Got You Under My Skin, The Lady Is A Tramp, I get a Kick Out Of You, were just three of the songs he swung into, acting his role as the great man.

As the show rolled on I began to realise that they were in fact acting their way through a re-enactment of an evening with the Rat Pack at the Sands Casino and all three characters were
played to perfection. Sammy Davies danced on stage and Dean Martin fell on stage, all portraying those three great entertainers who would get together and put on an impromptu show kidding around smoking , drinking and singing.
These three guys on the stage acted their parts to perfection bringing laughter and applause to their antics and great singing, they were indeed a class act ,and it wasn't until the end of the show that the three principle players were introduced by their real names:

playing the part of Frank Sinatra was
Stephen Triffitt

Sammy Davies Jnr. played
by George Daniel Long

Dean Martin by Mark Adams.

The cast was supported by a 15-piece big band with supporting singers and dancers Winnie Clarke, Nikki Stokes and Giselle Wright.

What a sensational show this was, and to a standing ovation, well deserved, they gave us one more song. Absolutely fabulous a great evening to be remembered.
Yes, I saw the Rat Pack live in Las Vegas at the Hall For Cornwall.
